What is the origin of the Day of the Nurse and the Nurse in El Salvador?
The Day of the Nurse and the Nurse is celebrated on May 15 because it was so ordered by the Legislative Assembly through Decree 41 of May 4, 1948. Said decree mandates that every May 15 in El Salvador the Nurse and Nurse Day.
A day was chosen to celebrate these professionals considering that “the nursing profession is one of the most arduous, selfless and noble for the benefit of society, and that the great benefits that its members bring to humanity are therefore worthy of encouragement public of the homeland ”declared May 15 as “ Nursing Professional Day ”.
The Day of the Nurse and the Nurse is celebrated in El Salvador years since the international celebration that emerged in 1965 was established, while in our country it dates back to 1948.
